Chapter.1 The Origin of the Curse
Song: The Mark of Fenrir
Marco and Clara, after days of research, discover a disturbing pattern in local legends. Every so often, a man or woman tormented by guilt or emotional emptiness would mysteriously disappear, only to be linked later to savage attacks and disappearances. One name comes up repeatedly in the ancient texts: Fenrir the Wanderer, a creature who carries an ancestral curse and seeks to perpetuate his cursed lineage.
While investigating, Clara finds a dusty diary in the city library, written by a priest more than three centuries ago. It describes the story of a warrior who, after murdering his family in a fit of rage, was exiled to a forest. There, he was attacked by a creature that condemned him to a fate worse than death: to be the first lycanthrope, doomed to wander eternally, infecting the broken and guilty to share his torment.
The Encounter with the Ancestral Wolf
Marco begins to have dreams where he sees a huge wolf with glowing eyes stalking him. It is not a simple animal: its gaze conveys intelligence, hatred and a clear purpose. In each dream, Fenrir speaks to him, his voice booming like an echo:
“You are mine now. The blood you carry consumes you. Do not fight, embrace your destiny.”
Clara realizes that dreams are more than just visions. Ancient texts mention that the ancestral wolf visits the cursed to make sure they succumb to their new nature. But they also find a mention of something else: a forbidden ritual that can break the connection between the ancestral wolf and its victims. However, this ritual requires confronting Fenrir face to face, and the price could be higher than they are willing to pay.
The First Confrontation
Marcus, desperate to be rid of the curse, begins to accept the idea of finding and confronting the ancestral wolf. Clara, though terrified, decides to accompany him. Their investigation leads them to a mountainous region covered in fog, where Fenrir is said to dwell. As they advance, the atmosphere becomes oppressive, and the whispers of the trees seem to warn them of danger.
Finally, on a full moon night, Marco is involuntarily transformed while searching for Fenrir. Clara, armed with a silver dagger, must decide whether to face the monster Marco becomes or risk everything to keep him alive. At that moment, Fenrir appears in all its splendor: a colossal creature, with fur as black as night and eyes that glow like embers.
The ancestral wolf attacks Marco, not to kill him, but to push him to surrender to his wildest side. Clara, with her voice, manages to calm Marco enough for him to remember who he is, and together they manage to escape. However, Fenrir makes it clear to them that they have not seen the last of him.
