The Bond of Steel

Chapter III: The Alliance with Ragnir the Double-Edged
synopsis: The Bond of Steel
The years passed, and Thorlund grew in strength and skill. His body was that of a warrior, but his knowledge surpassed that of any young man his age. Helmara, seeing his potential, introduced him to Ragnir the Double-Edged, a sorcerer-warrior who traded with her. Ragnir was tall and muscular, with a dark beard and two crossed swords on his back that made him fearsome in battle.
Ragnir, though initially wary, was impressed by Thorlund’s skills. “You are more than an ordinary man. With the proper training, you could be a storm unleashed upon your enemies,” he told him.
Under the guidance of Helmara and Ragnir, Thorlund learned to fight with swords, throw axes with deadly accuracy, and use magic to enhance his strength and reflexes. But he never forgot the face of Sigurd the Iron Skull or the promise he had made to himself to avenge his mother and his village.
