“Backyard Ghosts” is a sung letter to the past.
Theia plays a woman who, as an adult, sits on the porch of her old house and sings with her guitar.
But she’s not singing for the radio. She’s singing for her little sister, who died years ago from an illness.
Between soft notes, she remembers playing in the garden, the dishes her mother left on the table for someone who was no longer there, and the silences that followed the final goodbye.
