Zadkiel’s Mission
Song: Light in the Darkness
Zadkiel, the “righteous one of God”, is sent to Earth at a crucial moment. From above, he observes Joseph, an old man burdened with sadness and resignation, but with a spark of hope still alive. Zadkiel descends, taking human form and disguising himself as an ordinary neighbor, guided by his heavenly purpose to soothe hearts and demonstrate that divine mercy never abandons.
In a small neighborhood supermarket, Zadkiel sees Joseph struggling to count his coins to buy a cheap margarine. This gesture reflects not only his need, but echoes the suffering of many forgotten souls. Zadkiel reaches out, not out of simple kindness, but as a divine reminder that there is always light in the midst of darkness.
Zadkiel fills a cart with food staples and, as Joseph heads to the checkout counter, hands him the bags full of food. For Joseph, these products represent not only physical sustenance, but also a reminder that there are still those who see and value him. Each item is a symbol of divine abundance, a tangible message of hope.
On the way to Joseph’s modest apartment, Zadkiel hears his story: a man who worked hard all his life, now lives alone, with children far away and a heart burdened with homesickness. Zadkiel’s words, though human in appearance, are full of heavenly compassion: “You are never alone. Your suffering has not gone unnoticed.” This journey unites the human and the divine in a simple, yet transcendent moment.
Before saying goodbye, Zadkiel leaves his contact number, but also something else: a seed of faith in Joseph’s heart. Later, in his apartment, as Joseph unpacks his bags, he finds a small card with the words:
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” (Matthew 5:7)
Joseph doesn’t remember seeing that card before, but he feels an inexplicable peace envelop him, as if an invisible burden has been lifted from his shoulders.
From above, Zadkiel, now invisible, watches Joseph with a satisfied smile. His mission is not over, but this small gesture has served its purpose: to remind Joseph, and through him the world, that God’s mercy is always present, even in the simplest moments.
